Support programme developed by experienced Trauma Therapists and accredited Trauma Sensitive Yoga practitioners
Our lead therapist is fully accredited by the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists and has over 12 years experience providing CBT to clients.
Her passion is understanding the root causes of mental distress and improving clients' life through the use of Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (CBT), EMDR and Trauma Sensitive Yoga.
Our main goal is to get help to people quickly, as we know there is a delay, and often a challenge, in getting professional help.
Plus, there is a lot of research and evidence to support the value of early intervention through psychoeducation and supportive therapy.
Our team includes fully qualified Trauma Centre Trauma Sensitive Yoga Instructors, (TCTSY), of which there are only thirty registered in the UK.
TCTSY at JRI is the founding and leading authority in trauma sensitive yoga in the world.
We endorse TCTSY as the authority on adopting yoga as a treatment for trauma as they only one supported by evidence based on research.

Trauma centre trauma sensitive yoga (TCTSY) is a specialized form of yoga that helps people who have experienced trauma or may have a diagnosis of PTSD.
When TCTSY is practiced regularly evidence suggests that it can significantly reduce symptoms of trauma and PTSD, particularly when used alongside traditional therapy. Please see Research header for further information on this.
As well as being an experienced trauma therapist Emma has also trained with the The Centre for Trauma and Embodiment, JRI Brookline, Massachusetts in trauma sensitive yoga. She is also a registered teacher with Yoga Alliance. For more information visit: https://www.traumasensitiveyoga.com.
TCTSY at JRI is the founding and leading authority in trauma sensitive yoga. Trauma-Informed Yoga requires no mandatory training nor does it have a regulatory body. There are many classes that are advertised as trauma informed however unless they are accredited by TCTSY the may not be following the same methodology that the evidence is based on.
TCTSY facilitators complete a 300 hour training program over a 9 month period and are required to have regular supervision, attend CPD ( Continuing professional development) and have a yearly re-accreditation assessment.
